Under the pain of illness and treatment, Kang (Lee Kang-sheng) finds himself adrift. He meets Non (Anong Houngheuangsy) in a foreign land. They find consolation in each other before parting ways and carrying on with their days. The latest film from Tsai Ming-liang (Goodbye Dragon Inn, Stray Dogs, The Wayward Cloud), Days marks yet another masterwork in one of contemporary cinema’s most extraordinary careers.

Pure rapture. A full body massage for the soul.
Jonathan Romney, Film Comment
Tsai's most tender depiction of physical and emotional coupling.
Giovanni Marchini Camia, Sight & Sound
A major return to form for Tsai. [A] dual portrait of loneliness and aging, bodies and time.
Erika Balsom, Artforum
A small, modest film, but a delightful reminder that Tsai remains a master of traditional film form.
Darrem Hughes, Cinema Scope
One of the ten best films of 2020. A melancholy and unashamedly sentimental depiction of somatic endurance and romantic longing.
James Quandt, Artforum
